Into The Wilderness

A man is a lost being. His dwelling in the past and dreaming of the future makes him more insensitive. He chooses his life not to live for himself but for others. What is the point of living if you’re just living to breathe? Often I’ve seen people working for the same company all their lives just to make their boss richer. And here yet again, they complain the emptiness within themselves. Who is to blame? The poverty? The system? Or person’s agony? People assume that they don’t have a choice, but they really do. It’s their conviction what’s holding them back. In the end, we only regret the chances we didn’t take.

A gun gives you the Opportunity. A thought pulls the Trigger. Click To Tweet

Let’s presume your nemesis hired a world class Hitman to assassinate you. So the Hitman approaches towards you and points a gun right between your forehead. He humbly asks you to make one final wish and he will make it happen. Just one wish and you’ll die. How would you respond? What will be your wish?

Scream for help?
Well, he will instantly blow your brains out without hesitation.

How about asking him to spare your life?
He’s there to kill you. So don’t even think of that.

Run?
He would not miss a target. Your cowardly ignorance will lead more near to your death.

Fight back?
If you’ve got some crazy ninja moves, then definitely it will work in your favor but he’s a world class hitman, remember? With your limited attacking skills, you won’t survive another minute.

The point here is, you need to take your chances. Here’s what my best course of action would be. I cannot outrun, or dodge or stop bullet like a guy did in Matrix. I have one life and I would try my best to protect it.

I would punch my future killer (I’m not dead yet) and snap gun from him. Or I would gauge my fingers into his eyes not until he’s dead blind. Or another option would be, I would swing my head to and fro and try to snatch his gun waiting for the right moment. I’d rather take my chances than dying coward death. I may be shot before I can oppose but if I have 1% chance of survival chance, I would take that.

If you haven’t noticed it yet, almost every motivational speakers reiterate the same thing “You become what you think“, “Your subconscious mind is your god“, “Visualization is a superpower“, etcetera and etcetera.

The point here is your mind is the reason which plays every little trick on you. You can control your mind. It is believed that you have two minds: conscious mind and subconscious minds. The subconscious mind is always working and never sleeps, whereas, your conscious mind needs rest. The subconscious mind is your thought’s servant. It tells you what you say. It doesn’t differentiate what is right or wrong. So if you’re planting a negative thought into your mind repeatedly, it eventually manifests to reality.

Often people claim their eternal God listened to their prayer and they got the right answer. Or because of the god’s will, they’ve won a fortune. What they don’t realize is that their beliefs are the reason for the achievement of their desire. God is just an idea in their insensible mind to trigger their ultimate success. God is invented.

There is a beautiful story I’ve read.

A Monkey of Mind and A Wishing Tree

An exhausted man accidentally happens to walk into a magical wishing tree. After a long and hectic walk, he thought to himself, “I wish I could rest somewhere peacefully“. Suddenly he saw a soft grass with chilling wind appear and he lay down for a while. After a few hours, he found himself well-rested. A tired man doesn’t ask a question.

Now he felt as hungry as a wolf and he thought of all the delicious food he could eat. Again all of them just appeared in front of him. A hungry man doesn’t ask a question too. After filling his tummy, he felt thirsty and wished to drink something. Again every drinks he’d thought emerged in front of him. A thirsty man doesn’t ask a question.

When he was satisfied with all his needs, slowly he began to wonder how the uncanny things have happened just now. He perplexedly thought, “What the hell is happening here. I asked for appetizing food, food came. I asked for drinks, drinks came. May be there are ghosts around here”. Then the ghost came. He had no idea he was sitting under the wishing tree. Seeing ghosts, he got scared and screamed, “The ghosts are torturing me. They will kill me”. Then he died.

The problem was, he was sitting under a magical wishing tree called a Kalpavriksha. Whatever he asked for or thought became a reality. Sadhguru says A well-established human mind is referred to as a “Kalpavriksha.” In this mind, whatever you ask for becomes a reality. In life, you are also constantly sitting under a Kalpavriksha, so you need to develop the mind to a point where it becomes a Kalpavriksha, not a source of madness.

Your mind is the maker of your own destiny. Yes, we human invented God. People invented the idea of god. Thousands of gods can testify to that simple truth. Who is your god? An old dude in the sky? Or a cool guy with 3rd eye.

You either believe that the universe is ruled by physical laws or that the universe is ruled by some supreme being. I was raised by a religious mother who believed in divine, but later in life, I got no evidence for that and rather found a preponderance of evidence for physical laws.

I believe in Science. I believe in lives in other planets. What would you answer if I ask you this simple question, “If there is an Alien life, do they too worship Jesus and read Bible?“. I already know your answer so you don’t have to answer that.

We cling to memories that define us. But what we do or think defines us. Click To Tweet

Who invented the religion? This is the question no one can answer with certitude. But one thing is sure. Hinduism, Judaism, and Zoroastrianism are believed to be the oldest religions started very long long time ago. There is no record of the birth of the religion till date.

Into The Wilderness

The latest scientific study reveals the average lifespan of a human is less than 25-30 years without vaccination and health care. Millions of babies would probably die of diarrhea or parasitic infections every year. A normal kid of age below 10 cannot survive in the wild for less than a month even if he has access to food and water.

People fear possibilities more than uncertainties. It is certain that you die one day. You don’t know how, when or what will kill you, but you know your flesh and bones are not immortal. A mere penetration inside your heart will lead you to traumatic death. A simple bump on your head will kill you. It is also possible that you may not open your eyes ever when you wake up in the morning. Just possibility. Yet, we live every day rationalizing nothing will happen to us.

A few weeks ago, I answered a Question on Quora, “Are Atheists Afraid Of Death?“. I answered to this question because the question bemused me. I had to think for awhile to answer this question. Many Quorans answered, they have absolute no fear to death. Maybe I should hijack them and point a gun at them, “Do you fear death now?”

Anyway, later I dug more into it and realized something very important. Everybody, whether you are a theist, atheist or agnostic, death agitate you. You fear it. We all human beings evolved this way because it’s the only defense against dying before reproducing. Without weapons or tools, we cannot even survive the squirrels.

So Why Do People Pray?

Most people pray to connect themselves with God. Or probably they pray to fill the void inside their emptiness. What is God? Jesus who died for our sins? Or illusionary Allah. People pray because they think god is the answer to their missing pieces. I don’t blame them. I pray to myself to fill my need and strength to fill the circumstances. I pray to Universe.

Into The Wilderness

Praying is wishing to get hope and desire. It’s your eternal belief and persistence that matters. God is just a means you created by yourself so that you pray. The important thing here is to believe in yourself. Share your thoughts with someone, if not to something. It can be your pet dog, chair, or even books. Praying means thankful.

Sadhguru: People need to understand that it is not the prayer which makes the difference, it is being prayerful as a quality and not as an act which makes the difference. Becoming prayerful means that your whole being has become an offering. It is a process of offering yourself. Being prayerful is a deep connection with the Divine inherent in everything and everywhere. It is a quality, a state of being. As we become prayerful, it is extremely beautiful. But that state is reached only when we connect to our inner nature. Then, the experience is absolutely joyous.

Ok. Now one thing most people don’t understand is You don’t exist the way you think. Everything you are now is because of your thought.

One day you will Die. That is why you don’t live in the present: always earning, saving and perturbing about the next day. And that next day is again for the coming next days.

You and Me aren’t two Beings. In Quantum Physics, it states that everything is made of energy and these particles are all the same, be it in stone, tree, a chicken, a shoe, water, or human. We are all connected. In fact, we are all part of this universe rather than a dot in it. Our absence of knowledge made us born like knowledge and think of us as different.

There is nothing like GOOD and BAD.

Ever heard of Einstein’s Theory of Relativity? Unlike Humans, Nature is not biased. There are no good or bad things. Everything is valid in nature and we must accept whatever comes our way.

I’m gonna end this with my one of the favorite jokes.

A man died and went to heaven. As he stood in front of St. Peter at the Pearly Gates, he saw a huge wall behind him. He asked,

“What are all those clocks?”

St. Peter replied, “Those are Lie-Clocks. Everyone on earth has a Lie-Clock. Every time you lie the hands on your clock will move.”

On astonishment, a man said, “Oh!!” Turning on his left he asked, “Whose clock is that?”

“That’s Buddha’s. The hands have never moved, indicating he never told a lie.”

“Amazing,” the man exclaimed.

“That’s Abraham Lincoln’s clock. The hands have only moved twice, referring to us that the dude only told two lies in his entire life.”

“Where is Obamas’ Clock?”

“His clock is in Jesus’s office. He is using it as a ceiling fan.” 😛
